Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing care to animals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring excellent client service. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to grow their careers in veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Restrain animals during exams and procedures as needed.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by veterinarians.
- Monitor and record vital signs and behaviors of animals.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including collecting samples and conducting tests.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Provide compassionate care to animals and communicate effectively with clients.
- Assist with client education on pet care and wellness.
- Support the team in general clinic operations and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
- Knowledge of animal care and behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and experience with veterinary software is a plus.
- Ability to lift and handle animals of various sizes.
